Look at these fantastic machines I've been watching! They are making
haylage which is a crop that is halfway between hay and silage. It is used mainly to feed horses because it has lots of nutrients and isn't very dusty.
First of all the grass is cut with a
topper. Then it is left to dry, being turned with a
swath turner and then bulked up into rows before it is packed into bales by the
baler. Then the
bale wrapper picks up the bales and wraps them up with polythene.
